That's the intention. We work from your reference photos rather than a breed library, so unusual coats, odd ears and one-off markings come through. If the first proof isn't right, your included revision round fixes it.

Can I include more than one dog?

Yes. Two dogs work particularly well because the book can lean on the relationship between them. Add both in the pet details step.

My dog is a rescue and I don't know his history. Does that matter?

Not at all. The book is built from what you've seen, not from paperwork. Most of the best material comes from the last twelve months of ordinary days.

Is this suitable for a dog who has died?

Yes — choose 'Remember my pet' when you start and the tone shifts. Many people order a memorial dog book in the weeks after a loss.

Getting the likeness right

Likeness is the thing people care about most, and it comes down almost entirely to the photos you upload rather than the illustration style you pick.

One clear, straight-on face shot in daylight.
One full-body side profile for proportions and tail carriage.
One photo that shows coat colour honestly — no flash, no filter.
One photo of them mid-something: zoomies, digging, sulking.

Long-coated breeds, merle patterns, split faces and mismatched eyes all reproduce well. Very dark dogs are the hardest to render, so an outdoor photo in soft light helps enormously.
