You don't have to know everything
You are not expected to know their routines, their nicknames or the story behind every photo. All you need is their name and a few photos.
- Use the details you already know. Their name and a few clear photos are enough to start a book.
- Ask a family member for the rest. A family member can help you find clear photos of their face, build and markings.
- Borrow photos from the family group chat. A clear daylight face shot and a full-body side profile do most of the work.
- Include a personal dedication. Printed on its own page at the front, in your words. Two or three lines work well.
- Nothing prints until you approve the proof. If something needs fixing — likeness or a fact — email us before you approve and we won't print.
Occasions this works for
A birthday. For the person who already has the mug, the tote bag and the framed photo. A book about their own dog or cat is the version of that gift they will read more than once.
Christmas. It survives the day itself, which most Christmas presents don't. Order early enough to see the proof without rushing, and keep the parcel unopened until the morning.
A new puppy or kitten. The first year disappears faster than anyone expects. A book made in those early months keeps their likeness in a story you can read together.
Moving house. A move is unsettling for the animal and the people. A familiar pet in a written story can be a comforting gift for the new home.
